My name is Lucia, and I will be happy to welcome you into my home in Borgomanero, Piemonte, where you’ll receive one-to-one, customized lessons while living as part of my family. I host just one guest or a couple at a time, offering you a relaxed, fully customized language and culture experience.
This is more than just a course, it’s a full Italian immersion homestay designed to help you speak Italian naturally, confidently, and with joy.
From the moment I meet you at the airport, your learning journey begins. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner, Italian will be introduced little by little, always in context, and always with encouragement. Teaching is my only job, so you’ll have my full attention all day long: at meals, during excursions, while shopping or meeting friends, and throughout our everyday life together.
My Philosophy: Learn Like a Child, Without Fear
When you learn a language, just like learning to swim, ski, or anything you enjoy, the key is to take the first steps without fear of making mistakes. Children don’t worry about grammar or getting things wrong. They just try. And that’s what I encourage you to do.
Forget about “fare una brutta figura” (making a bad impression), just speak, and I’ll be there to guide and support you. My customized lessons will always meet your level with the purpose to take you to the next one. When I say this to beginners, they immediately begin to relax. And that’s when learning truly happens.
I also know that when you come to Italy, you’re not just here to study, you’re here to enjoy yourself. That’s why I include flexible scheduling and beautiful excursions to local lakes, mountains, and cultural spots.
In my home, there’s no strict timetable, only one rule: Relax. I adapt completely to your pace and your needs
Meet the Family
My adult children—Mara and Roby—live nearby and are often part of the experience. Mara is an artist who works with animals, sings, paints, and uses singing bowls for relaxation. Roby runs a theatre and a music academy where he teaches acoustic guitar.

The Agogna River runs through town, crossed by four bridges. There are frequent live performances during the summer months, and an endless list of social activities for all tastes.
Education and Qualifications
I hold a Diploma Superiore in Translation and Interpreting (Traduttori Interpreti) and have many years of experience as both a professional translator and a teacher of English and Italian. My background also includes work as a tourist operator and lifeguard, and I’ve always loved helping people feel confident and welcome, whether sitting at the table in my living room, at the lake, or exploring my beautiful area of Italy.

- Knitting and reading, especially in the quiet evenings after a full day of learning and exploring
